Stephenville, Tex. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team fell in two contests in the final day of the TexAnn Invite on Saturday. The Bearcats fell 3-0 to #25 Tarleton State before dropping a 3-1 decision to Midwestern State. At the conclusion of the tournament, the Bearcats now stand at 0-4 on the season.
In the opening match of the day against #25 Tarleton State the Bearcats fell 25-18, 25-13, 25-13.
Katie Robinson led the way in points with 8.0 (6 kills, 4 block assists) while
Brea Freeman had 14 assists and a team high 5 digs in the loss. In the 3-1 loss to Midwestern State, SBU took set one 25-23 before dropping the next three sets 25-19, 25-18, 25-14. Robinson again led the Bearcats in points and kills (9.5 points and 8 kills), while Freeman had 18 assists, and
Bailey Baumann had a team high 12 digs.
The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, September 8 when they host the SBU Classic across both Friday and Saturday at the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
