Joplin, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team picked up a non-conference road victory over Missouri Southern on Friday evening 2-0. With the win the Bearcats improve to 2-2-1 on the season.

Mikayla Putt and placing it in the net for her third goal of the year while giving SBU a 1-0 lead. The Bearcats held the 1-0 lead going into the second half when
AC Pettit sent a cross to
Tessa Wagner who beat the keeper for her first goal of the season and a 2-0 SBU lead. The SBU defense limited Missouri Southern to 8 total shots, as keeper
Ashlyn Gibbs collected 4 saves in her first career shutout victory.
The Bearcats will return to action on Sunday, September 17 when they host Central Oklahoma in a non-conference match. Play is set to begin at 2:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
