Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team fell in a tough defensive battle against William Jewell on Tuesday afternoon in Bolivar 1-0. With the loss the Bearcats fall to 1-2-1 on the season.
The score remained tied for the first 34 minutes of the contest before William Jewell broke through with a header off of a corner to take a 1-0 advantage. The Bearcats and Cardinals would eventually go into the break with WJC still leading 1-0. Despite a strong performance from keeper
Ashlyn Gibbs, who collected 8 saves in the contest, the Bearcats would fall 1-0.
SBU will return to action on Friday, September 25 when they travel to Missouri Southern for a non-conference battle against the Lions. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. from Joplin, Missouri.
