Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team fell in their home opener to Rogers State on Sunday afternoon 4-0. After the loss the Bearcats drop to 0-3 on the season.
The Bearcats and the Hillcats played a tight first half, with neither team scoring for the first 40 minutes of the contest. RSU knocked in a header off of a corner in the 42nd minute to break the tie, as SBU went into the locker room trailing 1-0. The first 25 minutes of the second half were scoreless before Rogers State extended their lead in the 71st minute, and again in the 72nd minute. In the end the Bearcats would fall 4-0 to the visiting Hillcasts.
Southwest Baptist will return to action on Tuesday, September 12 when they host William Jewell. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from Plaster Stadium in Bolivar.
