Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team will close out their regular season by hosting #12 Emporia State for a three-game series beginning on Friday. The Bearcats enter the week no. 7 in the NCAA Central Region rankings, while the Hornets enter the week no. 1.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats return to action this weekend with a 30-16 (20-13 MIAA) record on the season. Offensively SBU is led byÂ

Scouting the Hornets
Emporia State enters the week 37-9 (26-6 MIAA) on the season. The Hornets are led offensively by Mason Brown who is hitting a team high .390 while also leading the team in doubles (16) and RBI (46). Levi Ashmore has scored a team high 60 runs to go along with a .355 average, while BJ Dean has hit 11 homeruns. On the mound Tanner Cairns is 6-1 with a 3.15 ERA while out of the bullpen Nathan Whitcomb is 4-1 with 8 saves and a 0.98 ERA.
