Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University Softball team concludes it's 12 game MIAA road trip this weekend, as they travel to nationally recognized Central Oklahoma on Friday and Northeastern State on Saturday.
Scouting the Bearcats
Coming into the contest with UCO the Bearcats are 25-11 (9-5 MIAA) and are coming off a series split with Missouri Southern on Tuesday.
Jaidyn Mawhinney leads SBU in batting avg. (.427) and on base percentage (.478).
Stormy Christerson is hitting .359, while
Megan Schellert is hitting .333.
Claire Miller leads SBU with a 1.44 ERA and is tied for the lead in strikeouts with 109.
Kacey Ayers-Evans has a 1.88 ERA and leads the team with 13 wins, and is tied with Miller for the team lead in strikeouts.
Scouting the Bronchos
The Bronchos come into the contest against SBU with a 29-7 (9-3 MIAA) record on the season and are coming off a sweep of Cameron University on Tuesday. On offense UCO brings the top hitting offense in the MIAA into the series. The Bronchos are lead by Carrie Abrams who is hitting .481 on the season. JoBi Heath and Tori Collet lead UCO with 41 RBI's each for the season. In the circle Peyton Walker leads UCO with 1.40 ERA and has 15 wins on the season.
Scouting the Riverhawks
Northeastern State comes into the contest against SBU with a 20-19 (9-7 MIAA) record on the season. The Riverhawks will play Central Missouri on Friday before hosting SBU on Saturday. Paige Gann leads NSU in batting average (.381), home runs (11), and is second in RBI's (34). Haley Acrey leads the team with 37 RBI's. Jennifer Wolf leads the Riverhawks in the circle with a 2.74 ERA, and has 65 strikeouts for the year.
