Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team hits the road this weekend with a three-game series at Pittsburg State on Sunday and Monday.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats return to action on Tuesday with a 27-12 (17-9 MIAA) record on the season, having won 12 of their last 14 MIAA games. Offensively SBU is led by
Hunter Hisky who is hiting .397 with a team leading 17 doubles and 47 runs batted in.
Andrew Meier leads the Bearcats with a .431 average, while
Nelson Muniz has hit a team high 7 homeruns, and
Caleb Sneed and
Sean Murley have both scored a team leading 41 runs on the season. On the mound
Chance Wolfe is 5-1 with a 3.06 ERA to go along with 7 saves, while out of the rotation
Drew Wagner holds a 3.68 ERA with 40 strikeouts across 51.1 innings.
Scouting the Gorillas
Pittsburg State enters the week 18-22 (12-14 MIAA) on the season, and have won seven straight MIAA contests. The Gorillas are led in average by Dallas Reed who is hitting .383, followed by Ethan Schlesener (.370) and Colton Pogue (.369). Andrew Vogelbaugh has hit a team leading 11 homeruns, while Reed has knocked in a team high 47 batters. On the mound Ty Rowe is 4-0 with a 2.74 ERA out of the bullpen while as a team PSU has a 6.50 team ERA.
