Lincoln, Neb. - The Southwest Baptist University Men's tennis team fell to Washburn 5-2 in the MIAA semifinals on Wednesday morning. 

In doubles play SBU would pick up two points, at #1 (#18) Sherif Abohabaga / Chris Blodig defeated #15 Alejandro Valarezo Plaza / Blake Hunter (8-3). At #2 (#15) Ferenc Agoston / Gyory Agoston fell (8-5), and at #3 Torben Semrau,/ Raul Cabalero won (8-4) as SBU would hold a 2-1 lead heading into singles play. In singles play #4 Abohabaga fell to #28 Valarezo Plaza (6-4, 1-6, 2-6) at #1 singles play. SBU would fall in #2, #3, and #6 singles and would fall 5-2 to #35 Washburn.

The Bearcats will now wait and see where they will be playing in regionals. The bracket will be announced later this week.
