Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University Softball team will begin a 10-game homestand this week as they host Emporia State on Friday and Washburn on Saturday.
Scouting the Bearcats
SBU comes into the series with Emporia with a 26-14 (10-8 MIAA) record and are coming off of a 12 game road trip over the last two weeks.
Jaidyn Mawhinney is leading SBU with a .407 batting average and a .453 on base percentage.
Stormy Christerson comes in hitting .359, while
Megan Schellert is hitting .344.
Lauren Strobel is pacing SBU with 11 extra base hits and 24 RBI's.In the circle

Scouting the Hornets
Emporia State come into the contest against SBU with a 25-19 (10-6 MIAA) on the season and are coming off of a split against Nebraska-Kearney. ESU has five players hitting over .300 on the year and are led by Caitlin VanVleck who is hitting .372 on the season.Danielle Sprinkle leads the Hornets with 29 RBI's on the season. Eryn Stockman leads ESU in almost every pitching category including wins (17), innings pitched (167.1), and strikeouts (83).
Scouting the Ichabods
Washburn comes into the series with a 21-24 (8-8 MIAA) record on the season, and are coming off a split with Fort Hays State. WU is led by Erica Harper who leads the team in batting average (.365) and home runs (9) and is tied for the lead in RBI's with 25. In the circle Kelcee Henry and Ashley Wills who have each thrown at least 80.0 innings this season.
