Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University Softball team continues their 12 game MIAA road trip as they travel to Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western this weekend.
Scouting The Bearcats:
SBU returns to action on Friday with a 22-8 (6-2 MIAA) record on the season. On offense SBU is lead in average by
Jaidyn Mawhinney (.453),
Stormy Christerson (.349), and
Megan Schellert (.344). The Bearcats have three players who each have 15 RBI's ( Christerson, Schellert, and
Dana Graves), while
Lauren Strobel has 14 and
Darien Robinson has 11. In the circle
Kacey Ayers-Evans leads the team in ERA (1.59), strikeouts (99), and innings pitched (105.1).
Claire Miller is also having a strong season where she has a 1.62 ERA, and has collected 89 strikeouts over her 69.1 innings pitched.
Scouting Northwest Missouri:
Northwest Missouri enters the contest against SBU with a 16-10 (5-1 MIAA) record on the season. Kaitlyn Weis leads NWMSU in several offensive categories in batting average (.394), runs (23), hits (37), extra base hits (17) and RBI's (29). In the circle NWMSU is lead by Taylor Blackford and Holly Posegate who each have 7 wins and have ERA's under 2.72
Scouting Missouri Western:
The Griffons enter the week with a 25-7 (5-1 MIAA) record for the season. On offense MWSU is led by Shelbie Atwell who is hitting .437 on the season. She also leads the Griffons in doubles with 14. Sydney Washington leads the team with 31 RBI's on the season. In the circle Barbara Billingsley leads Missouri Western with a 2.79 ERA as well as a 14-4 record.
