SBU Baseball Travels to UAFS on Tuesday, Host MSSU on Friday-Sunday

 - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team will step out of MIAA action on Tuesday when they travel to Arkansas-Fort Smith before returning home for a three-game series against Missouri Southern beginning on Friday.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats return to action on Tuesday with a 18-8 (8-7 MIAA) record on the season. Offensively SBU is led by Hunter Hisky who is leading the MIAA in average (.441) and doubles (14), while ranking 3rd in the MIAA in RBI (38) and slugging percentage (.775). Jovany Urbieta and Sean Murley both lead the Bearcats in homeruns with 6, while Clint Jack has a team leading 29 runs scored. On the mound Chance Wolfe is 5-0 with a 2.25 ERA to go along with 3 saves, while out of the rotation Drew Wagner holds a 4.05 ERA.

Scouting Arkansas-Fort Smith
Arkansas-Fort Smith enters the game against Southwest Baptist 13-12 on the season. The Lions are led offensively by Drew Duncan who is hitting a team high .319 on the season, and is one of only two Lions to hit above .300. UAFS has hit only 10 homeruns on the year, and hold a .264 team batting average. On the mound the Lions are led by Evan Dodd who is 3-2 with a 3.27 ERA.

Scouting Missouri Southern
Missouri Southern enters the week 19-11 (11-5 MIAA) on the season. The Lions are led offensively by Max Hogan who is hitting .429 on the season with 10 homeruns and 36 RBI. Brett Graham has knocked in a team leading 41 RBI, to go along with a .380 batting average, while Tyler Sutherland has scored a team high 38 runs to go along with a .386 average. On the mound Sean Goostree has a 4.84 ERA out of the rotation, while closer Cody Smith is 5-3 with 4 saves and a 2.28 ERA.
