Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team picked up a convincing 9-0 victory over previously unbeaten Emporia State on Monday 9-0. With the victory the Bearcats improve to 8-0 (2-0 MIAA) on the season.
SBU opened up play with a clean sweep of doubles, as
Sherif Abohabaga/
Chris Blodig,
Ferenc Agoston/
Gyorgy Agoston, and
Torben Semrau/
Raul Cabalero all picked up doubles victory. The Bearcats then picked up straight set victores from Abohabaga, Ferenc Agoston, Cabalero, and
Marcel Castillo while Blodig and
Joao Almeida both picked up wins in the third set as SBU cruised to the 9-0 victory.
The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, March 22 when they travel to NCAA Division I Southern Illinois. Play is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. from Carbondale, Illinois.
