SBU Baseball to Travel to Northeastern State this Weekend

- The Southwest Baptist University baseball team will hit the road on Friday, March 17 as they travel to Northeastern State to open up a three-game series against the RiverHawks.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats are coming off of a three-game series sweep against Fort Hays State and are now 13-6 (4-5 MIAA) on the season. Offensively SBU is led by Hunter Hisky who is hitting .417 with a team leading 9 doubles and a .476 on base percentage. Jovany Urbieta leads the Bearcats in homeruns (4), runs batted in (27), and slugging percentage (.672) while hitting .403 on the year. Clint Jack and Caleb Sneed both lead the team in runs scored with 22. On the mound Chance Wolfe is 4-0 with a 2.45 ERA to go along with 2 saves, while out of the rotation Brian Womack holds a 6.46 ERA.

Scouting the RiverHawks
Northeastern State comes into the series against Southwest Baptist 9-7 (3-3 MIAA) on the season. The RiverHawks are led offensively by Dakota Woods who is hitting a team high .327 with a team leading 12 runs batted in. Dylan Adams is the only over RiverHawk hitting over .300, at .313, while as a team NSU is hitting .234. NSU holds a team ERA of 4.90, led by starters Hunter Neal (2.67), Zach Parish (3.13), and Nolan Sturgeon (3.20).
