Claremore, Okla. – The Southwest Baptist University Softball team fell twice to Rogers State on Wednesday afternoon. SBU is now 11-5 on the season.
In game one Rogers State would jump out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd inning, however SBU would get runners on 2nd and 3rd in the 3rd inning but would fail to score. In the bottom of the 4th inning Rogers State would add another run and would take a 2-0 lead to the 5th and would add one more run in the 6th to go up 3-1.
Catlin Evans would reach on an error to open up the 7th inning for SBU, and with two outs
Stormy Christerson would reach on a fielder's choice to drive in Evans. However SBU would fall 3-1, Kacey Evans-Ayers pitched a complete game for SBU and had 7 strikeouts.
In game two both teams would come out slow as neither team would score a run until the 3rd inning. In the 3rd inning RSU would push across 2 runs and would have a 2-0 lead. RSU would extend the lead to 8-0 and would go on to win by that score.
The Bearcats will be back in action Tuesday, March 7 when the host Missouri S&T in a doubleheader. First pitch for game 1 is set for 1 PM from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar, Mo.
