SBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Kevin Lofton begins his 2nd season as the head coach at Nebraska-Kearney. Lofton holds a career head coaching record of 21-12, with a 156-125 record as co-head coach at UNK (10 seasons).
Nebraska-Kearney leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 5-4. The Lopers claimed a 79-65 victory over the Bearcats earlier this season in Kearney.
