Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will close out their two-game road trip at Washburn on Saturday before returning home for the final two regular season home contests.
The Coaches & The All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer is in her third season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to their first winning season in 9 years (16-13, 11-11 MIAA) last season. The 11 MIAA wins also marks the second most conference wins in program history. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 27-31, including a 15-26 mark in the MIAA.
Tony Hobson begins his 9th season as the head coach at Fort Hays State. Hobson holds a career coaching record of 570-183, spanning across 25 seasons, with a 157-77 record while at FHSU.
Fort Hays State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 10-7. The Lady Tigers claimed a 88-63 victory over the Bearcats earlier this season in Hays.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats enter the game against Fort Hays State 15-11 (7-10 MIAA) and are coming off of a 69-65 victory at Washburn. SBU is led in scoring by
Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 16.8 ppg while
Caylee Richardson averages 11.5 ppg, and a team high 7.2 rpg.
Alex Botkin dishes out a team high 2.9 apg, while
Aliyah Isaac averages 8.6 ppg and
Mackenzie Skupa averages 8.1 ppg. As a team SBU shoots 46.4% from the field, 31.7% from beyond the arc, 75.1% from the line, and average 72.2 ppg.
Scouting the Lady Tigers
Fort Hays State enters the game against Southwest Baptist 20-7 (11-7 MIAA) on the season. The Lady Tigers are coming off of a 64-53 victory over Nebraska-Kearney. FHSU is led in scoring by Jill Faxon who averages 11.1 ppg, and is the only Lady Hornet in double figures. Tatyana Legette pulls down a team high 7.7 rpg to go along with 9.7 ppg, whikle Nikola Kacperska and Kacey Kennett both average 9.0 ppg. As a team FHSU shoots 41.2% from the field, 30.1% from beyond the arc, 67.0% from the line, and average 74.9 ppg.
