SBU Men Travel to Washburn for Final Regular Season Road Contest on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist closes out the road portion of their regular season schedule on Saturday at Washburn.

The Coaches & The All-Time Series
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Bob Chipman begins his 38th and final season as the head coach at Washburn. Chipman holds a career coaching record of 788-343, and ranks 17th on the all-time wins list at any NCAA level.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats come into the game at Washburn 14-11 (7-9 MIAA) and are coming off of a 71-69 loss at Emporia State. SBU is led in scoring by Logan Hovey who is averaging 12.7 ppg, while Brian Patterson averages 10.3 ppg and a team high 5.2 rpg. SBU presents a balanced scoring attack with 10 players averaging over five points a piece. SBU shoots 47.4% from the field, 37.0% from beyond the arc, 68.2% from the line, and average 72.4 ppg.

Washburn comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 16-9 (8-8 MIAA) and are coming off of a 90-63 victory against Emporia State. Washburn is led in scoring and rebounding by Brady Skeens who averages a double-double on the season at 14.0 ppg and 10.7 rpg while shooting 66.8% from the field. Cameron Wiggins averages 12.6 ppg while Javion Blake averages 11.8 ppg. As a team Washburn shoots 49.5% from the field, 38.5% from beyond the arc, and average 78.5 ppg.
