Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist concludes their short two-game homestand on Saturday when they host Pittsburg State.
The Coaches & The All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Kevin Muff begins his 7th season as the head coach at Pittsburg State. Muff holds a career coaching record of 92-80 at the NCAA level, and was named MIAA Coach of the Year in 2014-15.
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Pittsburg State 32-28. The two teams have yet to meet this season, but split in their two meetings last season with SBU winning at home 83-71.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats come into the game against Pittsburg State 12-13 (6-8 MIAA) and are coming off of a 84-62 victory over Missouri Southern. SBU is led in scoring by
Logan Hovey who is averaging 12.8 ppg, while

Pittsburg State comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 4-18 (2-12 MIAA) and are coming off of an 73-58 loss to Central Missouri. Pittsburg State is led in scoring by Jaxon Holden who averages 10.5 ppg. Isaiah Hicks averages 9.5 ppg and a team high 5.1 rpg, while Elijah Gaines averages 9.5 ppg. As a team Emporia shoots 42.9% from the field, 34.4% from beyond the arc, 65.4% from the line, and average 65.4 ppg.
