The Coaches
SBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer is in her fourth season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU back to the MIAA Tournament in Kansas City for the first time in three years. Coach Keizer led the Bearcats to back-to-back winning seasons (16-14, 7-12 MIAA last year) in 2015-16 and 2016-17. A feat that had not been done since the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 50-47 and a 22-39 mark in the MIAA.
Dave Slifer enters his 14th season at the helm of the Jennies in the 2017-18 season. Among active head coaches, Slifer enters the season as the fourth winningest active head coach in Division II and 26th across all three divisions, with his 635 career victories. His .730 winning percentage is 14th among all active NCAA Coaches.
