Men's Basketball to Host Drury in Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Catfight

Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's basketball team will play host to the Drury Panthers on Tuesday in the annual Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Catfight at the Meyer Sports Center.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his fourth season on the SBU bench after compiling a 37-51 (19-41 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 219-152 across twelve seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Steve Hesser begins his 14th season as the head coach at Drury. Hesser owns a 281-106 career record at Drury, and is the second winningest head coach in DU history.

Drury leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 37-18. The Panthers claimed a 71-63 victory over SBU last season in Springfield.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats opened up the 2017-18 season splitting with Oklahoma Baptist and Southwestern Oklahoma State during the SBU Classic and are now 1-1 on the season. The Bearcats were led in scoring and rebounding by Logan Hovey who averages 17.5 ppg and 13.0 rpg. Marlon Alcindor (12.0 ppg), Kai Woodfall (11.5 ppg), and Chris Rossow (11.0 ppg) all average double-figures as SBU is shooting 43.2% from the floor and 46.5% from beyond the arc.

Scouting the Panthers
Drury opened up their season with a 107-57 victory over Ottawa and are 1-0 on the season. In the contest, the Panthers were led in scoring by John Williams who scored 18 points on 8 of 9 shooting, while Kamau Kinder also chipped in 17 points off of the bench. Isaac Johnson (16 points, 6 assists), Brandon Wolfe (12 points), and Kolbe Kinghorn (10 points) were all in double-figures for DU.
