Bolivar, Mo. -Â Southwest Baptist will travel to nationally recognized Fort Hays State on Saturday to close out a short two-game road trip.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her third season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to their first winning season in 9 years (16-13, 11-11 MIAA) last season. The 11 MIAA wins also marks the second most conference wins in program history. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 27-31, including a 15-26 mark in the MIAA.
Tony Hobson begins his 9th season as the head coach at Fort Hays State. Hobson holds a career coaching record of 570-183, spanning across 25 seasons, with a 157-77 record while at FHSU.
Fort Hays State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 9-7. The Lady Tigers claimed a 96-84 victory over the Bearcats last season in Hays.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats enter the game at Fort Hays State 10-3 (2-2 MIAA) and are coming off of an 65-52 victory at Nebraska-Kearney. SBU is led in scoring by
Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 14.5 ppg while
Caylee Richardson averages 11.7 ppg, and a team high 6.94 rpg.
Alex Botkin dishes out a team high 3.1 apg, while
Mackenzie Skupa averages 9.2 ppg. As a team SBU is out-rebounding their opponents by 10.7 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Lady Tigers
Fort Hays State enters the game against Southwest Baptist 12-2 (3-2 MIAA) on the season, and are currently receiving votes in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll. The Lady Tigers are coming off of a 69-59 victory over Central Missouri. FHSU is led in scoring by Jill Faxon who averages 11.8 ppg, while Kacey Kennett is also in double-figures at 10.3 ppg. Tatyana Legette pulls down a team high 7.8 rpg to go along with 9.6 ppg.
