Bolivar, Mo. -Â Southwest Baptist will travel to Lincoln on Saturday to close out their two-game road trip.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
John Moseley begins his 3rd season as the head coach at Lincoln. Moseley holds a career coaching record of 20-38 (12-39 MIAA).
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Lincoln 27-18. The Blue Tigers claimed a 96-91 overtime victory over Southwest Baptist in their last meeting during the 2015-16 season in Jefferson City.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats come into the game at Lincoln 10-7 (3-5 MIAA) and are coming off of a 81-54 victory at Lindenwood. SBU is led in scoring by
Logan Hovey who is averaging 11.5 ppg, while
Brian Patterson averages 11.1 ppg and a team high 6.2 rpg.
Cartree Pettis leads the Bearcats in assists with 3.5 apg to go along with 7.4 ppg. SBU presents a balanced scoring attack with six players averaging over seven points a piece. SBU shoots 47.0% from the field, 36.8% from beyond the arc, and averages 74.4 ppg.
Scouting the Blue Tigers
Lincoln comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 12-6 (5-4 MIAA) and are coming off of a 66-64 loss to Central Missouri. Lincoln is led in scoring by Jaylon Smith who averages 21.3 ppg and a team leading 6.9 rpg. Anthony Virdure is the only other Blue Tiger in double figures, averaging 19.8 ppg and a team high 4.6 apg. As a team Lincoln is shooting 44.7% from the field, 36.1% from beyond the arc, and are averaging 78.7 ppg.
