Men's Basketball to Host Top Ranked Northwest Missouri on Saturday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist closes out their short homestand by hosting #1 Northwest Missouri on Saturday.

The Coaches
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Ben McCollum begins his 8th season as the head coach at Northwest Missouri. McCollum holds a career coaching record of 141-70.

Scouting Southwest Baptist
The Bearcats come into the game against Northwest Missouri 9-6 (2-4 MIAA) and are coming off of a 66-63 loss to Missouri Western. SBU is led in scoring by Brian Patterson who averages 11.8 ppg and a team high 6.3 rpg, while Logan Hovey is also averaging double figures at 11.8 ppg. Cartree Pettis leads the Bearcats in assists with 3.7 apg to go along with 7.9 ppg. SBU presents a balanced scoring attack with six players averaging over seven points a piece.

Northwest Missouri comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 15-0 (7-0 MIAA) on the season and are currently ranked #1 in the latest NABC Coaches Poll. Northwest Missouri is coming off of a 67-54 victory over Central Missouri. NWMSU is led in scoring by Justin Pitts who averages 19.3 ppg to go along with a team high 5.5 apg. Chris-Ebou Ndow averages 12.7 ppg and a team high 6.5 rpg, while Zach Schneider averages 10.3 ppg.
