SBU Women Return Home to Host Missouri Western on Thursday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist returns home for a pair of games beginning with Missouri Western on Thursday evening.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Kelsey Keizer in her third season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to their first winning season in 9 years (16-13, 11-11 MIAA) last season. The 11 MIAA wins also marks the second most conference wins in program history. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 27-31, including a 15-26 mark in the MIAA.

Rob Edmisson begins his 5th season as the head coach at Missouri Western. Edmission holds a career coaching record of 457-152 across 21 seasons, while holding a 68-44 record while at MWSU.

Missouri Western leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 33-18. The Griffons claimed a 93-87 victory over the Bearcats last season in Bolivar.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats enter the game against Missouri Western 10-4 (2-3 MIAA) and are coming off of an 88-63 loss at Fort Hays. SBU is led in scoring by Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 13.8 ppg while Caylee Richardson averages 11.6 ppg, and a team high 7.04 rpg. Alex Botkin dishes out a team high 2.9 apg, while Mackenzie Skupa averages 8.8 ppg. As a team SBU is out-rebounding their opponents by 10.2 rebounds per game.

Scouting the Griffons
Missouri Western enters the game against Southwest Baptist 12-3 (4-2 MIAA) on the season, and are coming off of a 77-65 victory over Missouri Southern. MWSU is led in scoring by Dwanisha Tate who averages 11.7 ppg, while Chelsea Dewey averages 11.5 ppg and 4.7 apg. Julia Torres pulls down a team high 6.9 rpg to go along with 9.3 ppg, and Sefulu Faavae averages 9.1 ppg and 4.0 apg.
