Bolivar, Mo. -Â Southwest Baptist returns home to host Missouri Western on Thursday as part of a short two-game homestand.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Brett Weiberg enters his fourth season as the head coach at Missouri Western. Weiberg holds a career coaching record, spanning ten seasons, of 173-156 and a 34-51 mark while at Missouri Western.
Missouri Western leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 50-30. The Bearcats claimed a 79-76 victory over the Griffons last season in Bolivar.Â
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats come into the game against Missouri Western 9-5 (2-3 MIAA) and are coming off of a 56-54 victory at Fort Hays. SBU is led in scoring by
Brian Patterson who averages 12.2 ppg and a team high 6.5 rpg, while
Logan Hovey is also averaging double figures at 11.4 ppg.
Cartree Pettis leads the Bearcats in assists with 3.9 apg to go along with 7.4 ppg. SBU presents a balanced scoring attack with seven players averaging over six points a piece.
