Claremore, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team fell on the road at Rogers State on Sunday afternoon 3-1. With the loss, SBU drops to 0-2 on the season.
Rogers State jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead 14 minutes into the contest. The two teams fought back-and-forth over the next twenty minutes with RSU maintaining the 2-0 lead before Southwest Baptist got on the scoreboard. In the 38th minute of play
Dylan Saib sent a cross into the box where
Ben Newell headed the ball into to the goal to cut the deficit in half at 2-1. Both teams played a tight second half, and a goal from Rogers State in the final minute of play handed SBU a 3-1 loss on the afternoon.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, September 8 when they travel to Oklahoma Christian University. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Oklahoma City, Okla.
