Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team fell at home to #17 Fort Hays State 3-0 on Friday afternoon. With the loss SBU drops to 0-10-1 (0-3 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats played strong defense in front of keeper
Matt Garza, as both teams played into the 22nd minute tied 0-0. FHSU struck first in the 22nd minute, taking a 1-0 lead off of a penalty kick. The Tigers then added another goal in the 42nd minute as SBU went into half trailing 2-0. In the second half the Tigers extended their lead to 3-0 in the 69th minute by scoring off of a corner kick, and the Bearcats were unable to get on the scoreboard as SBU fell 3-0.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, October 6 when they host Harding in a non-conference match. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
