Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's soccer team fell in a hard fought battle against Central Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon 3-1. With the loss SBU drops to 0-6 (0-1 MIAA) on the season.
The Bronchos struck first in the 20th minute, taking a 1-0 lead, and then added another goal in the 25th minute as the Bearcats trailed 2-0. In the 35th minute the Bearcats cut the deficit in half when
Elin Hammar dribbled down the left side of the field, sent a beautiful pass to the edge of the box where
Brianna Stanley beat the keeper 1v1 to put SBU on the board.Â
In the second half UCO extended their lead to 3-0 in the 64th minute. The Bearcats had strong scoring opportunities down the stretch, but were unable to convert as they would eventually fall 3-1.
SBU will return to action on Thursday, September 29 when they host Northwest Missouri. Play is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. from the SBU Soccer Field in Bolivar.
