Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team once again played a tough match, but fell 3-1 to the hands of Missouri Western on Saturday afternoon. With the loss SBU drops to 3-12 (0-2 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats once again eclipsed 20 points in each set, falling in set one 25-20 and set two 25-21. SBU then came back to take set three 25-19 before falling 25-21 in the deciding fourth set. SBU spread out the offensive attack, with five different Bearcats collecting at least 5 kills, led by
Leah Rader's 8 kills while
Katie Robinson and
Kalyn Sotomayor each had 3.5 blocks.
Serena Mar picked up 18 assists, while
Brea Freeman had 12, and defensively
Bailey Baumann had a team high 17 digs followed by Freeman with 13 and
Dana Neal with 12.
SBU will return to action on Friday, September 30 when they travel to #18 Washburn. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from Topeka, Kansas.
