Shawnee, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University volleyball team fell in a pair of games at the MIAA/GAC Crossover on Saturday. SBU dropped a 3-1 decision against host Oklahoma Baptist before falling 3-0 to Southeastern Oklahoma State in the evening. At the conclusion of the day SBU now stands at 3-9 on the season.
In SBU's 3-1 loss to Oklahoma Baptist, the Bearcats dropped set one 25-16 and set two 26-24 before taking set three 25-23. However, the Bearcats would drop set four 25-15 as they fell 3-1.
Serena Mar had her first career triple double with a team high 24 assists, 12 digs, and 11 kills.
Dana Neal had a team high 12 kills while
Katie Robinson chipped in 11. Neal also had a team high 15 digs, while
Bailey Baumann and
Brea Freeman had 14 digs a piece. In all, the Bearcats had three athletes pick up double-double's (
Serena Mar,
Brea Freeman, and
Dana Neal).
In SBU's 3-0 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma State the Bearcats fell in set one 25-12, set two 25-16, and set three 25-14. Robinson had a team high 6 kills, Mar had a team high 7 assists, while Baumann had a team high 6 digs in loss.
The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, September 20 when they host William Jewell. Play is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. from the Meyer Sports Center in Bolivar.
