Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University women's tennis team picked up a 5-0 sweep over  #38 Augustana in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday afternoon in Bolivar. With the win, SBU improves to 24-3 and advances to the Sweet 16.

The Bearcats kicked things off by sweeping doubles play. Christina Zentai/Lara Soares made quick work of the #7 doubles team in the NCAA with an 8-1 victory at no. 1 doubles before Klara Vickov/Zorana Jovaonvic picked up an 8-4 victory at the no. 3 position. After trailing 7-2 in no. 2 doubles, Maria Josie Zehnder/Lani Tuemmers finished off an impressive comeback victory to take the final doubles point by a score of 9-7.

In singles play Zentai picked up an impressive 6-0, 6-1 victory at the no. 1 position over the #13 ranked singles player in the nation, before Vickov cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 victory at no. 4 singles to pick up the 5-0 team victory.

SBU will now advance to the Sweet 16 for the fourth consecutive season. The Round of 16 is set to begin on Wednesday, May 18 with their opponent and time of the match still to be determined.
