Springfield, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team avenged an earlier loss at #30 Washburn in the semi-finals of the MIAA Tournament with a 5-1 victory over the Ichabods. SBU now stands at 13-6 on the season.
The Bearcats took an early 2-1 lead after the doubles competition, as

Gyorgy Argoston took down the #21 ranked doubles team in the NCAA at the number one position 8-4. SBU then earned a 9-8 victory at the number three position as
Raul Cabalero/
Omar Diab earned the win. The Bearcats then swept the completed singles matches, winning at one (Abohabaga), two (
Chris Blodig), and three (Argoston) to come away with the 5-1 victory.
SBU will now advance to the MIAA Championship Finals where they will take on #12 Northwest Missouri at 9:00 a.m. from the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
