Emporia, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team claimed an 8-1 victory over Emporia State on Saturday. With the win, SBU improves to 12-5 (4-0 MIAA) on the season.
The Bearcats opened up play with a sweep of doubles to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. The Bearcats picked up singles victories at number one (
Sherif Abohabaga), number three (
Chris Blodig), number four (
Torben Semrau), number five (
Raul Cabalero), and number six (
Marcel Castillo) to cruise to the 8-1 victory.
SBU will return to action on Sunday, April 24 as they look to claim an outright MIAA Championship. Play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. from Topeka, Kansas.
