Emporia, Kan. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team claimed an 8-1 victory over Emporia State on Saturday. With the win, SBU improves to 12-5 (4-0 MIAA) on the season.

The Bearcats opened up play with a sweep of doubles to take a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. The Bearcats picked up singles victories at number one (Sherif Abohabaga), number three (Chris Blodig), number four (Torben Semrau), number five (Raul Cabalero), and number six (Marcel Castillo) to cruise to the 8-1 victory.

SBU will return to action on Sunday, April 24 as they look to claim an outright MIAA Championship. Play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. from Topeka, Kansas.
