Box Score Warrensburg, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team fell on the road at Central Missouri on Wednesday evening 5-1. With the loss SBU now stands at 17-18 (12-13 MIAA) on the season.
After three scoreless innings to open up the game, the Bearcats were the first to strike in the top of the fourth. With two outs in the inning,
Christian Binger doubled down the left field line, and was brought home on an rbi single to right field by
Chance Wolfe as SBU took a 1-0 lead. Central Missouri responded with two runs in the bottom of the fifth, as SBU trailed 2-1 heading into the sixth. The Bearcats put runners in scoring position in the top of the sixth, but were unable to convert, while UCM tacked on three more runs over the next three innings as SBU would eventually fall 5-1.
The Bearcats will continue their road trip this weekend when they travel to Northwest Missouri on Friday, April 15 to open a three-game series. Opening pitch on Friday is set for 3:00 p.m. from Maryville, Missouri.
