Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University baseball team will step away from MIAA play on Tuesday when they travel to Truman State before jumping back into MIAA action on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Fort Hays State.

Scouting the Bearcats
Southwest Baptist enters the week 5-8 (1-5 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led offensively by Sean Murley who is hitting .447 with 12 runs scored, 5 doubles, and 10 rbi. Chance Wolfe (.348), Jeff Bouchard (.340), Cody Massey (.333), Carter Sherban (.333), Trevor Bowling (.308), and Caleb Sneed (.306) are all hitting over .300 on the season. Bowling leads the Bearcats with 14 runs scored, while Christian Binger has knocked in a team high 13 rbi. On the mound Brandon Chernoff holds 5.71 ERA to go along with a 2-1 record.

Truman State enters the series against Southwest Baptist 4-5 (1-1 GLVC) on the season. The Bulldogs are led offensively by Nick Agiolo who is hitting .514 on the season, while Joey Gardner (.429), Adam Gregorich (.421), Brendan Trimble (.389), Jason Preist (.349), and David Gambino (.341) are all hitting over .300 on the season. Priest has scored a team high 10 runs on the year, while Gambino has knocked in a team high 10 rbi. On the mound Nate Lukas boasts a team low 3.65 ERA.

Fort Hays State enters the series against Southwest Baptist 9-8 (3-3 MIAA) on the season. The Tigers are led offensively Alex Weiss who is hitting .439 while Connor Ross (.386), Austin Unrein (.380), Caleb Cherryholmes (.375), Joe Mapes (.367), and Clayton Basgall (.333) are all hitting over .300. Cherryholmes and Ty Redington both have scored a team high 18 runs, while Unrein has knocked in a team high 22 rbi, and Mapes has hit a team high 5 homeruns. On the mound D.J.
