Ava, Okla. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 regional victory over East Central on Friday. With the win, SBU now stands at 5-4 on the season.
Southwest Baptist took an early 2-1 lead after doubles play, with the doubles teams of
Sherif Abohabaga/
Gyorgy Argoston and
Chris Blodig/
Torben Semrau both picking up victories for SBU. The Bearcats then finished off East Central by taking three of the four completed singles matches with Abohabaga, Argoston, and Raul Caballero all claiming points for the Bearcats.
SBU will return to action on Saturday, November 19 when they travel to NCAA Division I Nebraska. Play is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. from Lincoln, Nebraska.
