Box Score 2 Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team fell in a double-header against Northwest Missouri 6-2 and 7-0. At the conclusion of the day, SBU now stands at 10-14 (3-3 MIAA) on the season.
In game one both teams remained scoreless through the first two innings of play before Northwest Missouri took a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the third. In SBU's half of the inning
Yezzania Gonzalez led the inning off by getting hit by a pitch, stealing second, and advancing to third on a double from
Catlin Evans.
Rachel Ray then layed down an rbi bunt single, followed by a sacrifice fly from
Dana Graves, as SBU trailed 3-2 heading into the fourth. However, Southwest Baptist was unable to push another run across the plate as SBU fell 6-2 in game one. In the second game of the day, Southwest Baptist fell to Northwest Missouri 7-0, as Ray, Evans, and
Stef Lischke all picked up hits for SBU.
The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday, March 12 when they host Missouri Western. Opening pitch of game one of the double-header is set for 12:00 p.m. from the SBU Softball Field in Bolivar.
