Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist close out their three game roadtrip at #21 Emporia State on Wednesday.
The Coaches and the All-Time SeriesSBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her second season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to a 9-18 (4-15 MIAA) record last season. Coach Keizer had spent the past three years as the assistant at Southwest Baptist after playing collegiately for Division I Drake.
Jory Collins is in his 6th season as the head coach at Emporia State. Collins holds a career coaching record of 127-36, while guiding ESU to four NCAA Tournament appearances in his five season as head coach.
Emporia State leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 36-12. The Lady Hornets claimed a 78-61 victory over SBU in Bolivar earlier this season.
Scouting the BearcatsSouthwest Baptist is coming off of a 64-52 road loss to Nebraska-Kearney, and are now 12-9 (7-8 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring by
Caylee Richardson who averages 12.0 ppg and 8.1 rpg, while
Megan Rosenbohm averages 11.6 ppg off of the bench.
Dilonna Johnson averages 10.6 ppg and a team high 3.7 apg, while
Mackenzie Skupa is averaging 7.4 ppg and
Sarah Magana is averaging 3.5 apg.
Scouting the Lady HornetsEmporia State enters the contest against Southwest Baptist 17-5 (11-5 MIAA) on the season. The Lady Hornets are coming off of a 74-66 road loss against Pittsburg State, and are currently ranked #21 in the latest WBCA Coaches Poll. ESU is led in scoring by Kelly Moten who averages 16.2 ppg and 4.7 apg, while Sandra Ngoie averages 12.7 ppg and 6.5 rpg. Kelsey Barnwell is also in double-figures averaging 11.0 ppg, while Kathryn Flott nearly averages a double-double at 10.1 ppg and 8.4 rpg.
