SBU Men Travel to Emporia State for a Rematch Against the Hornets Wednesday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will head to Emporia State on Wednesday to close out their three-game road trip.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his second season on the SBU bench after coming off of a 11-18 (6-13 MIAA) record last season. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 193-119 across ten seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Shaun Vandiver enters his 5th season as the head coach at Emporia State. The former NBA First Round Draft picks boasts a 52-63 career coaching record.

Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Emporia State 28-21. The Hornets claimed a 68-64 meeting earlier this season in Bolivar.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats are coming off of an 81-66 road loss to Fort Hays State, and are now 9-13 (4-12 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by Logan Hovey who averages 14.4 ppg and 7.3 rpg, while Brian Patterson averages 13.0 ppg and 5.2 rpg. Cartier Dean averages 8.1 ppg, while Kalehl Brown averages 7.4 ppg and Kai Woodfall 7.3 ppg.

Scouting the Hornets
Emporia State comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 10-12 (7-9 MIAA) on the season. The Hornets are coming off of a 78-66 home victory over Pittsburg State. ESU is led in scoring by Terrence Moore who is averaging 15.4 ppg and a team high 3.4 apg. Charles McKinney averages 11.2 ppg, while Joshua Oswald pulls down a team high 5.0 rpg.
