Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University softball team will open up their 2016 season when they travel to the Southern Arkansas Softball Invitational in Magnolia, Arkansas on Friday. The Bearcats are set to take on five different teams across the three-day tournament.

SBU's season opener is set for Friday, February 5 when they play Delta State with first pitch set for 12:00 p.m. The Bearcats close out day one against host Southern Arkansas with a start time of 4:00 p.m.

In day two, the Bearcats are slated to play against Cameron at 2:00 p.m. In the final day of competition, SBU will take on Rogers State at 10:00 a.m. followed by a quick turnaround with a 12:00 p.m. start against Newman.

The Bearcats home opener isn't until Saturday, February 20 when they host Rockhurst, 11 games into the season.
