Arkadelphia, Ark. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team fell in their season opener at #17 Ouachita Baptist 5-4 on Thursday evening. With the loss, SBU now stands at 0-1 on the season.
The Bearcats trailed after doubles play 2-1, with the doubles team of
Torben Semrau and
Gyorgy Argoston picking up the lone doubles victory for SBU. SBU came back with singles victories from
Sherif Abohabaga, Argoston, and Semrau but it wasn't enough as SBU fell 5-4 in the match.
SBU will quickly return on action on Friday, February 19 when they play Delta State. Play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m. from Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
