Arkadelphia, Ark. - The Southwest Baptist University men's tennis team picked up their first victory of the 2016 season on Friday, taking down Delta State 8-1. After the victory, SBU improves to 1-1 on the season.

The Bearcats had a clean sweep in doubles play, with the doubles teams of Sherif Abohabaga/Chris Blodig, Gyorgy Argoston/Torben Semrau, and Raul Rodriguez/Omar Diab all picking up wins. In singles play, SBU received wins from Abohabaga, Argoston, Semrau, Rodriguez, and Diab to cruise to an 8-1 victory.

SBU will return to action on Saturday, February 20 when they play Mississippi College from Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Play is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
