Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist returns home for a three-game home stretch starting on Saturday against Central Missouri.
The Coaches and the All-Time SeriesSBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his second season on the SBU bench after coming off of a 11-18 (6-13 MIAA) record last season. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 193-119 across ten seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Doug Karleskint enters his 2nd season as the head coach at Central Missouri. Karleskint spent the previous four season as the head coach at Arkansas Tech, and holds a career coaching record of 115-41.
Central Missouri leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 42-22. The Mules claimed a 70-64 victory over SBU earlier this season in Warrensburg.
Scouting the BearcatsThe Bearcats are coming off of 73-71 road loss to Emporia State, and are now 9-14 (4-13 MIAA) on the season. The Bearcats are led in scoring and rebounding by
Logan Hovey who averages 15.1 ppg and 7.5 rpg, while
Brian Patterson averages 12.6 ppg and 5.1 rpg.
Cartier Dean averages 8.0 ppg, while
Kai Woodfall averages 7.7 ppg and
Kalehl Brown 7.4 ppg.
Scouting the MulesCentral Missouri comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 13-10 (7-10 MIAA) on the season. The Mules are coming off of a 80-70 road loss to Washburn, and have dropped three straight. UCM is led in scoring by D'Marnier Cunningham who is averaging 15.7 ppg, while shooting 51.5% from the field. Spencer Reaves averages 12.0 ppg, while Marquiez Lawrence averages 9.5 ppg and a team high 7.2 rpg.
