Bolivar, Mo. -Â Southwest Baptist is set to play their final non-conference game on Saturday against Rogers State before entering the MIAA portion of their schedule.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her third season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to their first winning season in 9 years (16-13, 11-11 MIAA) last season. The 11 MIAA wins also marks the second most conference wins in program history. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 27-31, including a 15-26 mark in the MIAA.
Bobby Cope begins his 3rd season as the head coach at Rogers State. Cope holds a career coaching record of 22-30 after spending the previous five seasons as the top assistant at RSU.
Saturday's game marks the first contest between Southwest Baptist and Rogers State.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats enter the game against Rogers State 5-1 on the season, and are coming off of an 67-54 victory over the defending NCAA Division II national champion Lubbock Christian. SBU is led in scoring by
Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 17.3 ppg while
Caylee Richardson averages 11.0 ppg and
Madison Strong averages 10.3 ppg. Richardson is also the leading rebounder for the Bearcats at 6.3 rpg, while
Alex Botkin dishes out a team high 3.7 apg. As a team SBU is out-rebounding their opponents by 16.0 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Hillcats
Rogers State enters the contest against Southwest Baptist 3-4 on the season and are coming off of a 71-37 victory over Dallas Christian. RSU is led in scoring by Natahsa Kindred who averages 10.1 ppg, the only Hillcat averaging double figures. On the boards Lauren Schuldt pulls down a team high 5.7 rpg, while Nikola Nedoroscikova dishes out a team high 5.1 apg.
