Bolivar, Mo. - Â Southwest Baptist will hit the road for the final MIAA game of the calendar year when they travel to Central Missouri on Saturday.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her third season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to their first winning season in 9 years (16-13, 11-11 MIAA) last season. The 11 MIAA wins also marks the second most conference wins in program history. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 27-31, including a 15-26 mark in the MIAA.
Dave Slifer begins his 13th season as the head coach at Central Missouri. Slifer holds a career coaching record of 611-228, and ranks 51st all-time in the NCAA in wins.
Central Missouri leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 53-12. The Bearcats picked up a 68-65 victory last season over UCM in Bolivar after falling 77-74 earlier in the season in Warrensburg.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats enter the game aginst Central Missouri 7-2 (1-1 MIAA) and are coming off of a 77-68 victory over Northeastern State. SBU is led in scoring by
Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 15.7 ppg while
Caylee Richardson averages 11.8 ppg, and a team high 6.3 rpg.
Alex Botkin dishes out a team high 3.2 apg, while
Mackenzie Skupa averages 8.9 ppg and
Aliyah Isaac 8.0 ppg. As a team SBU is out-rebounding their opponents by 11.8 rebounds per game.
Scouting the Jennies
Central Missouri enters the game against Southwest Baptist 8-1 (2-0 MIAA) on the season, and are coming off of a 61-55 victory over Northwest Missouri. UCM is led in scoring by Paige Redmond who averages 16.2 ppg, while Morgan Fleming (12.2 ppg) and Ashley Duffy (12.1 ppg) both average double-figures. On the boards Kayonna Lee pulls down a team high 7.6 rpg, while Redmond dishes out a team high 3.7 apg.
