Bolivar, Mo. -Â Southwest Baptist is set to host William Woods on Monday as part of a five-game homestand for the Bearcats.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.
Nick Totta begins his 7th season as the head coach at William Woods.
Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against William Woods 2-0. The Bearcats claimed a 64-53 victory the last time these two teams met during the 2014-15 season.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats come into the game against William Woods 3-2 and are coming off of a 72-60 victory over Central Baptist. SBU is led in scoring by
Brian Patterson who averages 11.4 ppg and 7.0 rpg.
Logan Hovey is also in double-figures at 10.8 ppg to go along with 5.8 rpg, while
Louis Baltazar averages 7.6 ppg and 7.8 rpg.
Cartree Pettis leads the Bearcats in assists with 3.6 apg to go along with 7.0 ppg.
Scouting the Owls
William Woods comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 5-3 on the season. The Owls are coming off of a 71-69 victory over Haskell Indian Nations University. WWU is led in scoring by Shannon James who averages 15.8 ppg, while Trey Mitchell (14.0 ppg), Deon Pettigrew (12.0 ppg), Alec Mulvihill (11.1 ppg), and Brandon Vice (10.4 ppg) are all in double figures. Klayton Kuschel pulls down a team high 7.5 rpg while James dishes out 2.8 apg.
