Joplin, Mo. – The Southwest Baptist University men's soccer team fell in a neutral site MIAA contest against Northeastern State on Wednesday evening 2-0. With the loss SBU drops to 0-15-2 (0-7 MIAA) on the season.
Northeastern State jumped ahead early in the 4th minute of play as the Bearcats trailed 1-0 in the beginning of the game. NSU added another goal in the 28th minute as SBU went into the break trailing 2-0. The Bearcats cut the lead in the half in the 66th minute when
Garrett Gibson thread a pass through the defense where
Emmanuel Poblano connected on the far lower corner of the goal as SBU trailed 2-1. However the Bearcats were unable to net another goal as they fell 2-1 to the RiverHawks.
SBU will conclude the 2016 season when they travel to Northeastern State for a second straight match with the RiverHawks. Play is set to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 from Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
