Bolivar, Mo. -Â Southwest Baptist will hit the road on Tuesday for the Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Cat Fight against Drury.
The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach
Kelsey Keizer in her third season on the Bearcat bench after leading SBU to their first winning season in 9 years (16-13, 11-11 MIAA) last season. The 11 MIAA wins also marks the second most conference wins in program history. Coach Keizer holds a career coaching record of 27-31, including a 15-26 mark in the MIAA.
Molly Miller begins her third season as the head coach at Drury and holds a career coaching record of 52-9 (33-3 GLVC) including a 26-1 mark at home.
Drury leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 7-1. The Lady Panthers claimed an 84-69 victory over SBU last season and have won five straight.
Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats came away with two victories at the SBU Classic and are now 2-0 (0-0 MIAA) on the season. SBU picked up a 73-64 victory over Ouachita Baptist after defeating Henderson State 94-88 in overtime the day before. The Bearcats are led in scoring by
Megan Rosenbohm who is averaging 23.0 ppg while both
Mackenzie Skupa and
Caylee Richardson average 12.5 ppg. Richardson is also the leading rebounder for the Bearcats at 8.0 rpg, while Skupa pulls down 6.0 rpg and Rosenbohm 4.5 rpg. Rosenbohm also leads the team in assists at 3.5 apg.
Scouting the Lady Panthers
Drury comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 2-0 after coming off of a 94-59 victory over Trevecca Nazarene. The Lady Panthers are led in scoring by Heather Harman who averages 20.0 ppg, while Hailey Diestelkamp averages a double-double at 13.0 ppg and 10.5 rpg. Briana Jones is also in double figures at 11.5 ppg. As a team, DU has shot 50.8% from the field and 43.6% from beyond the arc in their first two contests.
