SBU Men Travel to #22 Drury for Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Catfight on Tuesday

Bolivar, Mo. - Southwest Baptist will hit the road for the first time in the 2016-17 season for the Bank of Bolivar Highway 13 Catfight against #22 Drury Panthers.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
SBU head coach Clark Sheehy begins his third season on the SBU bench after compiling a 21-36 (11-30 MIAA) record while at SBU. Coach Sheehy holds a career coaching record of 203-137 across eleven seasons while coaching six different All-Americans and over 20 athletes that have moved on to play professional basketball.

Steve Hesser begins his 13th season as the head coach at Drury. Hesser owns a 263-96 career record at Drury, and is the second winningest head coach in DU history.

Drury leads the all-time series against Southwest Baptist 36-18. The Panthers claimed an 82-79 victory over SBU last season and have won four straight.

Scouting the Bearcats
The Bearcats opened up their 2016-17 season with a 1-1 record at the SBU Classic. SBU picked up a 76-72 victory over Mary after falling 73-64 to Minnesota-Crookston the day before. The Bearcats are led in scoring by Brian Patterson who averaged 13.0 ppg, while Cartier Dean is also in double-figures at 10.0 ppg. SBU presents a balanced scoring attack with seven different players averaging over 7.5 ppg this season. On the boards Louis Baltazar averages a team high 10.5 rpg, while Patterson also averages 6.0 rpg.

Scouting the Panthers
Drury opened up their season with an 82-75 victory over Webster and are 1-0 on the season. In the contest, the Panthers were led in scoring by Tevin Foster who had 17 points, while the Panthers had five different players in double figures. Allen Hyatt had a team leading 8 rebounds, while Foster also chipped in a team leading 4 assists. As a team DU shot 46.8% from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc, and 69.6% from the free throw line.
