Bolivar, Mo. - The Southwest Baptist University football team will conclude the regular season portion of their schedule on Saturday when they travel to Lincoln for a game against the Blue Tigers.

The Coaches and the All-Time Series
Robert Clardy will begin his second season as the head coach on the Bearcat bench. Coach Clardy has spent the last eight seasons on the coaching staff at Southwest Baptist University, serving many roles during his tenure including Assistant Head Coach, Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach, and Wide Receivers Coach. Coach Clardy has produced three All-American's, most recently Antion McBee off of last year's squad, while seeing his athletes break numerous SBU, GLVC, and NCAA records.

Lee Johnson is in the middle of his first season as the interim head coach at Lincoln. Johnson is a former coach in the Canadian Football League and Arena Football League.

Southwest Baptist leads the all-time series against Lincoln 7-1. The Bearcats claimed a 62-19 victory last season in Bolivar.

Scouting Southwest Baptist
Southwest Baptist comes into the game at Lincoln 9-1 (6-1 GLVC) after defeating Central State 54-34 last weekend. The Bearcats are currently ranked #21 in the latest AFCA NCAA Division II Coaches Poll, #22 in the D2Football.com Poll, and have received votes for the eighth consecutive week in the AFCA Poll. The Bearcats are also ranked no. 3 in the latest NCAA Super Region 4 Rankings. Offensively, the Bearcats are led by Bubba Jenkins who is averaging 141.1 rushing yards/game, while TJ Edwards is averaging 278.7 yards/game through the air and 58.3 yards/game on the ground. Kendrick Payne (97.2 yards/game) and Cassian Foreman (77.6 yards/game) are the top targets in the passing attack. On the defensive side of the ball, the Bearcats are led by Shaun Hutchinson who averages 9.1 tackles/game to go along with 13.5 tackles for a loss, while Via Manuma has a team leading 11.5 sacks and 19.0 tackles for a loss.

Lincoln comes into the game against Southwest Baptist 1-9 (0-7 GLVC) on the season after falling to William Jewell 48-17 last week. Dennis Vinson leads the Blue Tigers with 180.1 passing yards/game, while on the ground Anthony Townsend leads Lincoln with 46.9 yards/game. Defensively Addison Tucker has a team leading 7.6 tackles/game while Noah Johnson has a team leading 8.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
